Okay, so last night my dad got home from a medical missions trip to Haiti where they cared for over 1,000 people in Port-a-Prince in 5 days!! The few stories he shared with us last night got me thinking about charity, which in turn got me thinking about running the marathon for charity. I think it would be so awesome if we each ran this marathon for charity! I also think it would make this whole experience that much better, knowing that we are running not only for ourselves but to help other people!

Now to address the title of my post! I was thinking about different charities that we could raise money for through this marathon, and how we would all probably have different suggestions. Then I remembered discussing starting our own charity. I came up with an idea for our own charity!! This is still a rough idea but I was excited about it and wanted to share it with all of you!! Since we are all or soon will be involved with education, as a teacher, or medicine, as a nurse, med student, and lab guru (sorry Amber I am not sure of your official title!), then our charity should have to do with raising money for childrens' education and medical needs!! The title of this post list possible names for our charity! I thought that half of our money could go to children here in America and half of our money could go to children in Haiti, or we could split the money 6 ways and each choose our own charity to donate to. I only say this because I know that Shay was in Africa and Ali was in Klemtu for their mission trips.
