Holy Humidity!!
Wow! 89% humidity at 7:30am...this heat is craaaazy! Anything you guys do during runs to help keep you cool? I read somewhere that eating an icy pop previous to running will help lower your core body temperature. Have any of you done this, or heard of it?!?! Also, at what distance do you bring water with you during a run? I got our 4 miles in, but it was definitely hot! I also learned the lesson of doing laundry so I always have a good sports bra. Haha.

MB, I am impressed!! 7:30 is so early. I usually don't get my runs in until well about now. My hip flexor is a bit sore so I think I will take it easier today. (Which I hate) I want to be ready for the weekend and our nine mile run. Anyways, good job and yes I have read about the icy pop after a run, sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to see y'all.
ReplyDeleteSo, I figured with this crazy heat, I would definately need water for our nine miler. I started carrying a water bottle with me yesterday for the 3 mile run just to build up a little muscle in the arm. I know my arm will be tired from carrying that little thing. I didn't even drink out of it though, I just looked like a hard core runner carrying the water. I was thinking, I know, I'm cool.
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult for me to get up before I come into work in the morning, so I have been having to wait until about 8 or 9 at night. I think the weather is similar to 7am. Wow Shay, I don't know how you are able to wait until 9:30 in Florida to run! That has got to be REALLY hot!
